Everyday Bliss, Art Journal Style
After making my 8 Things for a Blissed Out Holiday Season yesterday, I decided to evaluate my days and see how much time I actually spend doing them. Last night, I did manage to snuggle on the couch with my husband for a few short minutes between shreiks and hollers of "Mo-oooom," coming from one of the kids' rooms and I absolutely enjoyed the lights and holiday glow in the house.
I also made a point of noticing my surroundings a little more on the way home from work. I love the festive, decorated houses with pink flamingos in Santa hats, decked out palm trees in a rainbow of colors and all the goofy south Florida holiday decor. Makes me smile, just thinking about it.
I found that I spend more time shushing the kids when they're singing (screaming) and buzzing around the house than I do joining in. Sometimes their version of joyful noise isn't the same as mine and I need to remind myself that they need Everyday Bliss too. Maybe tonight we'll all turn up the volume and have some fun.
After the kiddos (and daddy too) were nestled all snug in their beds, I snuck off to my studio to enjoy a few minutes of my favorite kind of bliss, creativity. Everyday Bliss, Art Journal Style. I added some color to a few pages and played a little with some messy, distressed layering techniques.
How can you add Everyday Bliss to your days? Join in Sheri's challenge. The more the merrier!
