Jump Start Your January with Art Journaling

Prompt one is CIRCLES.
Make a journal page incorporating circles or write about your circles... or get really crazy and do both!
I chose to paint circles and half circles on my journal page and I plan to fill in the blanks with journaling about my circle of friends and my dream of expanding that circle. I may add more color and some images. I love that there are no rules in art journaling!
One of the exercises we'll be doing at the Art and Dreams Bound retreat includes sitting in a circle, sharing dreams, ideas and inspiration to be included in our Dream Books, while browsing inspiring images and papers to rip out and collage in.
Circles are everywhere.
Circle of Life.
Going in Circles.
Wheels are turning.
Cycles.
Sequin waste.
Swirls.
Mandalas.
Bubble wrap.
Sun and Moon.
Bubbles!
Buttons.
Bokeh.
How do you interpret circles and how can you take inspiration from them for use in your art?
I love this poem and today is a perfect day to share it...
Drop a Pebble in the Water
Drop a pebble in the water:
just a splash, and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples
Circling on and on and on,
Spreading, spreading from the center,
flowing on out to the sea.
And there is no way of telling
where the end is going to be.
Drop a pebble in the water:
in a minute you forget,
But there's little waves a-flowing,
and there's ripples circling yet,
And those little waves a-flowing
to a great big wave have grown;
You've disturbed a mighty river
just by dropping in a stone.
Drop an unkind word, or careless:
in a minute it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples
circling on and on and on.
They keep spreading, spreading, spreading
from the center as they go,
And there is no way to stop them,
once you've started them to flow.
Drop an unkind word, or careless:
in a minute you forget;
But there's little waves a-flowing,
and there's ripples circling yet,
And perhaps in some sad heart
a mighty wave of tears you've stirred,
And disturbed a life was happy
ere you dropped that unkind word.
Drop a word of cheer and kindness:
just a flash and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples
circling on and on and on,
Bearing hope and joy and comfort
on each splashing, dashing wave
Till you wouldn't believe the volume
of the one kind word you gave.
Drop a word of cheer and kindness:
in a minute you forget;
But there's gladness still a-swelling,
and there's joy circling yet,
And you've rolled a wave of comfort
whose sweet music can be heard
Over miles and miles of water
just by dropping one kind word.

I love your journal prompt. Circles means infinity and commitment to me. Love the poem too. I discovered you when I was fliiping through Artful Journaling. You are very inspiring to me. Glad I found you.
Carmen! This is wonderful and so inspiring. I'm jazzed to start an art journal.
I love the poem you shared here. It is wonderful and so very true. I love the them that words can be hurtful and are often felt a long time after; and that a kind word can leave cleer for days to come. I tried adding little circles to my last journal page with bubble wrap. See it on my blog - day 4.
