INSPIRATION:
This past week whooshed by at mach speed didn't it? Last Monday, I shared that I wanted to start the week of with Inspiration and Intention and one of my intentions was to start making some minor changes right here on my blog and website, beginning with my About page.
You'll notice I added my Mission, which is quite simply to empower creative women to follow their dreams. I was recently introduced to the term "innerpreneur" and my world shifted. I didn't know there were other people out there that believe "you should do what you are and what you love" and who agree that "we [innerpreneurs] are driven by our need to realize our full potential, to make a difference and to constantly learn and evolve."
When I read Tara Joyce's writing about innerpreneurship, it was like the heavens opened up and angels started singing! Hallelujah! I AM NOT ALONE! I don't know why it never occurred to me that there are a whole slew of people out there that look at life and work in the same way I do, but when I realized it, I also realized that my dream is possible. I realized my niche. These are the people that will get excited about what I have to offer... and they're really out there! (Was that you, or are the angels singing again?!)
INTENTION:
Here's to another incredible week! My intention this week is to work on my list of women that I would like to interview for the upcoming Interview Series here on my blog and you can help! In the comments, tell me what kind of questions you would like me to ask inspiring women and creative entrepreneurs.
What is your inspiration and intention this week? Talk to me!
xo & buckets of belief in you!

Sounds exciting! Thanks for sharing your work with all of us and inspiring. I would love to know how creative entrepreneurs do it all...there are so many ideas bursting left and right...how do they balance it all and pursue all their loves? This week I'm continuing with Spring cleaning, physically at home and also a bit online too!
How do you define if you have become sucessful or doesnt that matter?
A quote for you! "If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." ...Vincent Van Gogh...
Hi.
love your art and inspiration, can't say enough! I posted your badge on my blog, I will be following you.
MY blog timeless-art.blogspot.com
My inspiration is to be hipstamatic...like your app there. ;)
This week I will have a painting breakthrough,.. I am focusing on creativity first...and will keep regular creative office hours.

hi carmen! so glad i found your blog here - it was like a cold drink of water after a long hot day... well, as for questions! so many... i'm very new to my own business( five months) and trying to think from the other side of the desk.. what would i like to share if i was interviewed?... hmmm well, at the moment i'm (trying to) reading 'the gift' and i'm thinking through and processing how to be both giving of my gifts and talents, but also make a living out of what i do! the difficult thing is that these two ideas are completely opposed to each other! Giving freely to bless others and because we have to, or make money... So i'd love to hear about how others manage to find this balance - if in fact they are endeavouring to do so!
Thankyou so much for all your inspiration and ideas - i'll definitely be back!

Hey, Carmen! So excited about this!
I would like to know about motivations. For instance, I am so thrilled when I see women who not only dream, but those who say..."I can do this!" ...and actually make it happen. What motivates them to break out and actually move in the direction of their dreams?
Cheers!
RM :)
A question I would love to hear answers to would be "How do you know who you are and what you want?" Obviously this can not be defined per se, but it would really interest me to see what people say. Personally I have no idea who I am or what I want, and that has extended in my art-making journey. I am at a place right now where I have so many routes I could take this. I have learned that yes, I do love creating. Check. I love paint. Check. I love color. Check. Now, what to do with it?! Know I have so much to learn, but do I want to paint abstract paintings? Do I want just to continue to art journal? Do I want to do purely paint or mixed media? Do I want my paintings to "mean" things? I just read this article on what jurors look for in a painting for a gallery, and someone said that the work should reflect the times we live in. What does that even mean? Does my work have to have social/political/cultural themes to it?
WHEW. I could go on and on. Your blog has entranced me since I found it through Julie's classes. The direction you are taking it is so awesome, because you are doing things I can never imagine doing for myself. So, keep on flying, because this little baby birdie is watching :)

Carmen, wow, I am so honoured to know that my writing has inspired you, and that you embrace the mindset of an Innerpreneur so completely. Like you, when I realized that there were actually OTHER people that felt the same way I did about business, it seemed like the heavens opened up and the angels began to sing. It's so nice to know that there is a community of like-minded people that we can work with, learn from and be inspired by. Like you said, we have found our niche and damn, it feels good;)
Great to meet you, Carmen and I look forward to our continued connection.
LIke someone else said -- I'm so excited about the direction you are headed in. I love your blog; it's so positive and to-the-point. Great content! Great photos!
Can't wait to read your interviews with big dreamers!! Here are some questions I'd love for you to squeeze in:
- what inspires you?
- how did you discover your passion?
- how do you define success for yourself?
- tell about your lifestyle and what is a typical day like for you?
- if they're in a "second career"...what was the change like? what was most difficult and easiest? what have been the biggest surprises?
- who are your cheerleaders/encouragers?
love your blog! (don't visit mine....its brand new and I haven't even posted on it yet.)
Hi Carmen,
I've only recently been reading your blog, but loving it! I'm at the brink of leaping from a solid career that isn't me into the mostly unknown waters of finding a career that is. All I know right now is that it is necessary - and boy could I use a cheerleader! I'm delighted to find the term "Innerpreneur," too, and I'm enjoying finding more and more people out there who have made this leap and succeeded. A couple of things I'd love to hear, as you interview people are 1) if they are in a "second career" what was the thing that made the leap possible? Either from a support aspect or what was the final push in the decision? 2) how do you keep your work in line with your personal self over time? Does it tend to drift away and need to be brought back? We all have to make money, so do you find you choose money over integrity of your vision, and how do you re-align with you realize that's happened? I'm looking forward to more here!
